Kaye and Garyth Walpole formed Stagecoach Theatre Company in 1981 and were hoping to perform eight shows for tourists around the Geelong area. They received an offer to perform at The Stables Restaurant in Torquay (Victoria) and stayed there for 3 years before moving to Geelong and opening Stagecoach Theatre Restaurant in 1984.
After ten successful years at Stagecoach they moved to Yeppoon in Queensland and opened Footlights Theatre Restaurant, which has been running very successfully for 30 years.
Stagecoach and Footlights Theatre Companies have given over 100 actors the opportunity to enhance and improve their performance skills, whilst entertaining and delighting thousands of happy customers.

Kaye & Garyth Walpole
Kaye and Garyth teamed up over 42 years ago and created Footlights. What a super success story it has been, with almost 6,000 shows under their belts!
The first Australian actor accepted into the Actor’s Studio in New York started off in Footlights.
Every performance in 42 years has been important and thoroughly enjoyable. Kaye does the writing, directing and cooking, whilst Garyth does all the hard work.
Teamwork is the key to a successful Theatre Restaurant.

Jet Conway
“OH, WHAT A BEWDY !” is Jet’s second show with Footlights and she takes on each roll with thought and precision. She also works as our
Kitchen Manager and does an excellent job.
Annie Harper
Annie has been with Footlights for four years and during that time has played numerous roles, each one accurate and entertaining. She also helps with the Theatre School each week and the children love her.
Travelling Shows
Not only can you visit us – we can visit your home town to perform a One or Two Hour Travelling Show. This is Ideal for Fund Raising Events or Just a Great Night Out.
Two hour night shows available any night (accommodation required).
Venue Hire
Looking for a Unique Venue for your event? Look no further than the Footlights Theatre!
We cater for up 120 seated guests. If desired one or two hour shows are available for your event. Venue can be hired without show and actors.
